Mr. Akbar Torkaan at Aluminum Smelter Project

Chief Advisor to the President, Mr. Akbar Torkaan, visited South Aluminum Smelter project on April 12, 2017. Boland Payeh Co. is the local contractor for Civil works of the project (Package 1) allocated by Nonferrous Metal Industry’s Foreign Engineering and Construction Co. (NFC) of China.

The project site is situated in northeast of Lamerd city, Fars Province, and the port is situated 65 km south of project in Special Economic Zone of Energy Pars in Assaluyeh, on the shores of Persian Gulf.

This smelter project, being built in 500 hectares of land (and 5 hectares for harbor), is expected to be very cost competitive, combining the advantages of high technology of Nalco Alumina and low cost of Iranian energy.
